When I noted both the cast and the general subject matter covered here, I knew a couple of things: (1) it was NOT going to be a serious film, and (2), if decently done, it was going to be worth watching. I was absolutely correct - Meryl Streep is - as always - believable as an aging, not-quite-star rocker. Kevin Kline is a perfect foil - the uptight (and yet not without sympathy) successful Ex husband. Rick Springfiled and Meryl's accomplished daughter, Mamie Gummer, round out the strong cast. Don't be expecting real life here, just expect the actors to take decent care with the plot, and go along with the fun.
