A top ten read for me for 2016! I truly did love "The Perfect Comeback of Caroline Jacobs." Somewhat quiet and introverted, Caroline has gone through life trying not to make too big of a splash. And then, one day, she just lets loose. She can't hold her frustration inside any longer. Ultimately, this sets her on the path to try to stand up to the former friend who hurt her several years before. It's rare that a book can tackle somewhat serious issues and give you a few belly laughs in the process. Matthew Dicks' novel kind of reminded me of "Where'd You Go, Bernadette" in the blend of humor and pathos, though this book is a bit less quirky (e.g., there's no Antarctic adventure, but there is one heck of a road trip!) I love how this book examines how life's events shape us, and how, ultimately, it's up to us to choose the lives we want for ourselves.
