** spoiler alert ** Some say there is a first time for everything. I never thought I would see the day where I would rate a Laura Frantzastic book below 5 stars. This book left me with too many conflicting thoughts and unanswered questions. As usual it was well written and you can always look forward to a savoring experience..However the story line was rather brow raising.. ***SPOILERS***SPOILERS*** SPOILERS*** if you read further its your own fault because I've warned you. Okay so on to this love story where the oh so sweet heroine is in love with the masculine solider and she prays to God to 'lead her' in a decision to consent to an 'apparent' marriage of convenience. All the while a critical woman from her husband's past is yet alive...?? really?? so the all powerful God could not 'lead them' into "waiting" until the past was cleared up completely? but instead its a scandalous case of adultery or polygamy? dragging the heroines good reputation through the mud? (even with the circumstances that the reader learns in the end) Really, I have an opinion that this story could have been more tastefully done. I understand it had historical elements which perhaps is the entire point of the story however, it could have honestly illustrated *better* a lesson on waiting on a God that answers. I was disappointed in that element, but I guess the part I contend with is the point of the entire story. If it was written differently there would be no story. Anyway, like the male hero in the book, I will put the past behind me and look forward to next Laura Frantzastic book.
