Good movie. Got lost in some of the Gambling language used. It’s also a long movie. But! It held my interest. Not a bad movie.

Way too long, as most reviewers have said. Also, the book is MUCH better-the movie goes back and forth in time, which becomes a tired gimmick. Just ell the story! Anyway, read the book, then get the movie and just fast forward to about the last 30 minutes or so. This is because the book ends when she is arrested-the movie will let you in on what happened to her in court!

At 2 hrs and 20 mins this is one long film - unnecessary long. Chastain is a good actress and she looks good in low-cut dresses, which she wears a lot in many scenes. But together with a fairly tender moment, one of bonding between father and daughter toward the end of the film, this is about all the film has to offer me. The plot simply fails to interest me so I wound up fastforwarding some parts. A very average film despite the accolades from some film critics.

This two hours and half long movie was so incomprehensible and fast paced that got me lost. Seriously, was it necessary to provide too much information and facts in just one sentence? How many words can one say in one minute? Watched it with subtitles, but had to pause the movie way too often to let the facts sink in.
Acting was decent. Knew nothing about poker, so could not understand the terminology and rules.
Surprised some call Molly a heroine? What for? Greediness and playing illegally? Her sentence was just a big joke. Could not sympathize with her. She knew she invited Russian mafia to join the game even though the description on DVD cover says different.
Could not finish the movie; it was just too fast and too much info per minute. The movie could have been made better (and def shorter!).

This fast-paced movie may be best watched with the subtitles on. The dialogue is fast and often witty (Aaron Sorkin directed the movie and wrote the screenplay), and the action is nonstop which makes for a very fast viewing. Molly Bloom is definitely a heroine to root for, sticking by her guns the entire film and refusing to compromise herself in the process. The relationship between Bloom and her attorney Charlie Jaffey is entertaining and provides insight to Molly's background as a former Olympian skier.

Not being at all interested in gambling, we watched only part of this movie.

Based on Molly's memoir of her adventures running high-stakes private poker games for Hoolywood stars, politicians and financial titans, all men in the film. Excellent stuff if you liked to sit around gaming tables in Vegas or card clubs. Wonder if her personal life was indeed so very colorful. Same caliber of intrigue as stories about other vice queens Heidi Fleiss and Fernande Grudet. Too bad she did not name her clients as Kristin Davis whose #9 client was Eliot Spitzer.

A survey was taken a few years ago that asked 300 professionals one question, "What's the worst thing that can happen in sports?" Some people answered losing a game 7, and other people said getting swept in the 4. Some people said it was missing the world cup, and some Brazilians said it was losing to Argentina. Not just in the world cup. Anytime, ever in any contest. But one person answered that the worst thing that can happen in sports is 4th place at the Olympics.
