Looks like I dug this more than jimg2000, though I admit staging the various creatures did take a decent amount of screen-time. I thought there was a decent mix of animal pursuit, photographic work, and filming in zoos -- the only place where some endangered/ nearly extinct species like the white rhino, can actually be found! Joel Sartore's message that photographically viewing an animal "directly in the eye", may be the only way we'll be moved to save nearly extinct species, resounds throughout this video.

Adding to his 'Photo Ark' project portfolio, Joel Sartore of National Geographic traveled the globe to capture exceptional still portraits of about 30 rare animals in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania. Most of the subjects were from zoos or nature reserves though a few required strenuous tracking to acquire their images. Personally, like to see less footage on humans talking and their repetitive preparations of lighting and black or white background for those photo shoots.
