UNDERGROUND is a two season show about the Underground Railroad. It is set in the 1850's in Georgia. It opens with a current rap song but is mixed with songs from the slave days (songs picked in part because singer John Legend is one of the executive producers). There are some beautiful scenes and some not so beautiful but one realizes that those things most likely happened in those times. I liked the characters and the opening shot is terrific. If you are a history buff then this is a definite show to watch.

Very captivating story, I couldn't stop watching and I can't wait to start Season 2. Too bad the series has been canceled. Great actors and great acting all wrapped in one.

Anyone expecting a historical drama will be met in the credits with a horrible current rap song. Very incompatible with a drama set in the mid-to-late 1800's. Also the camerawork was so choppy...reminiscent of so many awful filmwork today (such as the newest Mad Max disaster)...the "music" and camerawork turned me off so much I shut this lousy production off before the credits even ended. I suggest anyone interested in learning about slavery watch either The Book of Negroes or the original 70's production of Roots.
