A slow plodding book. I found Jack to be the least credible character. Nothing about him and his actions made sense other then the little blurb about his past. Also the whole book went in circles around Millie and Thailand. We are never told what it is that Jack 'does' in Thailand. Or why he is specifically so invested in Millie when he has Grace? Does Millie's mental health excite him? One can only guess. A very monotone book, i did not care for Grace's plight or her struggles. I found it bland and hard to read. Hard pass from me.
I found this book very hard to read. It was a thriller but did not go far in thrilling me, rather it made me quite uncomfortable until the end. I found it to have very little plot until the last 60 pages. Not terrible, but won't be recommending.
Wow what a great read. The book is creepy all the way through. I was worried how the story would end for the main character. I have to say it was so very satisfying.
I didn’t like this selection at all. I didn’t care for the voice of the narrator, too pronounced of an English accent for listening to for so long of a time. Also, the story is violent, abusive, depressing. Not for me.

The content of this book isn't for those who squirm. However, if you can stomach the details this is a great book that I completed in a day just to find out what happened. Great read and would definitely recommend.
What a stunning debut novel by B. A. Paris that grips you with such disturbing intensity and pulls you right in. The characters are very real and you've met some controlling characters in your life but it's doubtful you've ever run into one of the magnitude of the antagonist. There is no atmospheric fluff in the just under 300 pages of the novel and I challenge you to try and sleep before you find out what happens and you have to read to the very last page to find out.
Utterly brilliant and I doubt the author can do a follow-up novel this engaging.
GREAT BOOK!!! Lots of stuff going on, puts you into shock at first like is this for real.
Another frustrating read...reminded me why i stopped reading 50 shades of grey when it first came out...after 20 pages. Uncomfortable right through...
