I am a believer in the idea that if you can listen to Neil Gaiman read a book to you, you should have Neil Gaiman read that book to you. As with all short story collections some are going to work better for readers than others, but I found this one overall quite good.

Couldn't get into this audio book, the intro was very self centered and unintersting and the content itself was hard to listen to. Maybe a written version may have been better....

This book was amazing. I even had to re-read it immediately after finishing.

Even one of my favorite authors cannot get me excited over short stories. While listening, I could not distinguish between where one story ended and another began. Perhaps its not such a good idea for the author to narrate his own work in monotone Mr. Gaiman. Regardless, these short fictions are a waste of time. 2 of 10 stars

Another example of 'Authors should not read their own works!!!' I could not get through even one of the stories. Yes, he is undoubtedly a good writer, but that does not translate to 'he is a good reader'. I was disappointed.

I love Neil Gaiman, and I love Neil Gaiman's voice. The fact that he narrates this collection takes it from great to absolutely superb! A mix of very short pieces and a few longer ones, each of which had its own wit, charm, and eerie undertones/overtones.

My only complaint is that the introductions are grouped together in the beginning of the book, not before each of their corresponding tales. Still, that doesn't keep this from netting a 5 star review!
