Very satisfying conclusion to the Princess in Hiding trilogy of Victorian romances, which manages to tie together all three books in this series as well as the events of Gray's previous trilogy 'Affairs by Moonlight'. She takes a character who was EXTREMELY unlikable in the first trilogy and manages to make him sympathetic and believable as a romantic lead, which I find impressive; the female lead in this one, Luisa, was also well-drawn. Absurd plot involving disguised princesses and assassination attempts was very cleverly done, despite its outlandishness, and this was a very fun read.

An outlandish plot involving female spies and cross-dressing men made this a bit hard to get into. I also had trouble feeling any passion between Somerton and Markham. They both insist on continuing to call each other by the name they started out with, which hardly creates a romantic atmosphere when he's calling her by her male alternate identity's name and she's calling him by his last name. I would probably read the first two books in the series, but I wouldn't go to the trouble of searching them out or putting them on hold.
