Author shined a belated light on female inkers & painters from 1930s to 1980s who made contribution on ideas, secondary voices & model.
Never knew Disney made their own paints.
Highlighted the growing pains from labor strike, World War II, Xerox machine in 1950s & computers in 1980.
Surprisingly progressive workplace despite lack of hiring African-Americans by comparing to its cartoon making peers. Employees had fond memories of farsighted tough ,but fair Walt.
Chuckled at interoffice romance & why Walt Disney allowed it. He was the first & gotten married to boot. Huh.
Highly recommended despite oversized thick book.

A great behind the scenes look at the women that worked for Disney animation. These were all hard working women that fought against the time period by maintaining jobs and excelling in them. These are first hand accounts from the employees and really allow the reader to understand what conditions and production was like at the animation studio.
