While parked at a gas station, Rhonda sees something so incongruously surreal that at first she hardly recognizes it as a crime in progress. She watches, unmoving, as someone dressed in a rabbit costume kidnaps a young girl. Devastated over having done nothing, Rhonda joins the investigation. But the closer she comes to identifying the abductor, the nearer she gets to the troubling truth about another missing child: her best friend, Lizzy, who vanished years before. From the author of the acclaimed Promise not to tell comes a chilling and mesmerizing tale of shattered innocence, guilt, and ultimate redemption.

Too many things going on in this book. And it is not convincing that the girls at the age of 11 are capable of such profound philosophical reflections.

Good thriller. I don't think you can truly like any of McMahon's characters, except the children, which often makes for an uncomfortable read.

I loved how this book just grabbed you and brought you in right from the start. The two plots in the book made it flow and kept me turning the pages (so much in fact that I read it all in one sitting .. no easy feat). At times it was a bit creepy and at other times it got kind of dull ... but all in all it was an afternoon well spent.

This was a fast paced interesting read for a mystery lover. The odd twist and turn kept me turning the pages well after I should have turned off the light. Although not a long book it was fast paced and enjoyable.
