I did not care for the book. The family does not get along and the main character is fussy.

I am a huge fan of Little House on the Prairie, so when I came across this book, I couldn't resist reading it. This book had me laughing at parts as they tried to live at this frontier family history camp something or other. I must say I was touched by the development of her relationship with her brother (it reminded me of my relationship with my younger brother lol). While it is lighthearted, it deals with some issues like family life and what it is like living without modern devices. Her texts to her friends (she sneaks a phone in) are funny and they help show her character development throughout the book. She and her family learn things about themselves they did not know before coming to this place. It did not take me long to finish it, but it was worth the read.

I loved Laura Ingalls Wilder and Little House. I thought this book would appeal to me, but it is geared more to a teenage audience. It is a good story for that age group, the main theme is coming out of your comfort zone and personal stereotype, and getting to know others that normally you wouldn't.

This book is about a teenage girls adventures when her family decides to go on a family camp away from electricity and technology. Throughout her time there she tries to break the rules and manages to until her phone gets lost and then she is unable to contribute to a blog her friends have started based on her texts.
