What would you do as a district attorney if your son is charged with murder? This book examines the pull between loyalty and justice. A very surprising ending to boot.

There were times when I really had to push myself to read through this book. Admittedly, I skipped a few pages here and there because i thought it was very dry reading, and many parts seem to linger on the same issues.
What the book is not is predictable. I like books that don't spell everything out for you before you get to the end, and for that matter, I will say it was an interesting way to go with the book. And even though it was dry, it will probably be one of those stories that I will think about from time to time. It will sort of stay with you.

A great murder mystery/thriller!

A solid legal-thriller. The pages fly by. Read the whole thing in a single afternoon. The second half of the book actually brings up a very controversial idea that keeps things moving, but doesn't explore it as fully as I would have liked.

People are putting this in the same league as Presumed Innocent and The Firm, but it's not THAT good. Still, if you've got a long plane ride, or an afternoon at the beach, this gets the job done.

A true page-turner that keeps you guessing until the very end. I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced legal thriller.

"Unputdownable". The story is told by the father, whose faith in his son is unshakeable. Is he right? Is his bias keeping him from seeing reality? Are we being kept from seeing reality because of the narrator's bias? Keep turning those pages!

I really enjoyed this story. Strong characters and the story was a page-turner.

Engrossing, well-plotted and thought provoking. How far would you go as a parent to protect your child?

I found it quite interesting and well-written. The plot is original and the characters are engaging. However, at least for me, the ending was anticlimatic and disappointing

This felt like reading an episode of Law & Order. Not a great literary work (and I found the narrator's disdainful descriptions of nearly every female character to be pretty tiresome) but ultimately an entertaining read with some good plot twists.
