Do you listen to NPR? If you do, you have probably heard Will Shortz's puzzle on the Sunday morning show. This documentary offers an entertaining portrait of Shortz and others who not only delight in puzzles, but also compete in puzzle-solving events. I particularly enjoyed the cameos of Jon Stewart and Bill Clinton. The latter completes the (always challenging) Saturday New York Times puzze in a matter of minutes - and in ink - not pencil!

As someone who is upset when I miss "Puzzlemaster" Will Shortz's NPR segment on my weekend mornings, this documentary was made for me. It includes a little bit of crossword history, a good handful of celebrity crossword fans, plenty of humor, and ends with a down-to-the-wire competition. I learned a lot, laughed plenty, then got my newspaper out of the recycling bin just so I could do the crossword. Highly recommended!

Loved this documentary. The Crossword Competition ending had me biting my nails.

Lovely, insightful, journey -- always respectful of its somewhat eccentric characters. Jon Stewart is hilariously competitive ... and, yes, puzzling can be very competitive!

An totally entertaining, funny at Times, movie about of all things.... crossword puzzles! Who knew! You will laugh outloud at times. I've watched it twice. (I gotta get out of the house more.)
