This book doesn't have as many species listed as other identification guides (although that doesn't come as a surprise given this is a "compact" guide). It also fails to consistently tell the reader what each species' diet is composed of, which can cause problems for bird-watchers who want to know what type of bird will frequent a certain bush, type of tree, etc.

The book is well organized and easy to use.
