No one was left. No one but Mark. They'd killed his family for the bounty that was paid for the scalp of an Apache. The bounty hunters knew the government couldn't tell the scalp of a dark-haired person from the scalp of an Apache. So with hate in his heart and a deadly gun at his side Mark was on a quest to find the killer - and when he did he would have no mercy.
In the dim light the man looked like the rider who had mutilated his family and left them to the vultures. Mark felt his body tense. With his arms hanging loosely at his side and spread-legged he fought the haze of rage that came over him in waves. He wanted to kill. It was like a hunger in him that crawled from the depths of his gut and followed a direct path to his brain. His voice was level and deadly when he challenged a killer.
