If you don't knit, cozy up to your lace-knitting friends and hint about a present that will cover several birthdays. Offering to buy cashmere yarn for the project will greatly increase your chances!

If you do knit, there are breathtakingly beautiful patterns in this book but BEWARE OF YARDAGE UNDERESTIMATES. I learned the hard way on the Lace Capelet and had to beg for another skein on Ravelry, even though it called for 1100 yds and I had 1400 yds. I saw too late that other Ravelers gave the same warning. The finished product was marvelous.

It has projects for lace beginners through lace experts. There are good lace charts and diagrams for the order of knitting different sections of a project. It also has good general information on knitting lace.
