A fresh read for pre-teens and young adults. Realistic cast and easy to read.
Although this was admittedly not the most well written, original, or realistic tale, it was a light, funny and enjoyable read. I definitely took Annisa's side in the book, so her narrative was obviously persuasive enough for me to understand.
The stereotypical-ness of this book is both why I don't like it, and why I do. The bad: everyone is blonde, cheerleaders are mean, etc, etc. It gets old. The good: a funny and actually pretty realistic account of a girl figuring out what she really wants.
Recommended for a nice summer day.
I discovered this book through the Subject Keyword search for "blond" fiction. Like most teen fictions, it was lighthearted and predictable. This isn't a bad thing - I chuckled, I had my happy ending, the boy was cute, etc. It's a good, quick read (and I mean quick: I read it in a day even with my terribly slow dyslexia). A nice, light narrative to just lose yourself in for a day instead of doing whatever you should be doing.
