Viewers were dragged into the fantasy world of a timid bitter and bullied working stiff in a fortune 500 company. The alternate ending clarified the final scene better in mho.

Thanks Santa Clara County Libraries.. I suggested this purchase in July of 2013 and am glad to see that it will hit shelfs some time in August.

By no means a perfect film, but certainly provocative and genre-defying. If you liked Office Space and Fight Club, you'll no doubt enjoy this little known gem as well.

Fair – He Was a Quiet Man (2007) 95 min. Christian Slater plays a troubled man who’s seeking help from his inability to “fit in” at work and at home. In some respect, the film delivers a poignant look into the mind and emotional stability of this individual. What was lacking in this person's life was the simple comfort of hope. Unfortunately, the low production values cheapen the feel of the film and as a result, the viewer is left not taking the film too seriously.

This film starts out a bit cliched but quickly it takes a left turn at reality. It never does what you might expect and constantly surprises.

Incredibly it manages to switch from bleak, to romantic, black comedy, to drama and then some. It's tragic, inspiring, horrific and sensitive all at once. When was the last time you saw a movie that was disturbing, confusing and made you think? Incredibly well directed, shot, written and acted movie. The writer/director also did many of the effects himself of his home computer. The whole thing was made on a shoestring budget and attracted big screen names based on the quality of the story. This is about substance and not flash, (even thought there's some of that too).

P.S. I love writer/director commentaries.

Bob Maconel (to his dream girl): You may ask why I did what I did. But what choice did you give me? How else could I get your attention? All I wanted to do is exist in your world. Just one person, would take time to actually see me. Help me find a way out.
