At once inspiring, uncomfortable and humorous, the author records a passionate love affair through the filter of regretful hindsight. The reader is forced to commiserate in the role of a close confidante, with the painful strategies of overcoming heartbreak and loss of life's purpose. And yet it is impossible not to cheer on the protagonist and revel in her talent for the written word.

How do you get over writer's block? Write an entire book complaining about your ex, apparently. Despite the fact that she was nursing a broken heart, I found the main character increasingly unsympathetic: self-absorbed, delusional and tedious, especially since she knew what she was getting into all along. There was some humour here, especially early on, but mostly it's a whole lot of whining.

Repetitive and boring. I didn't even make it through the whole book because I just didn't care about the characters.

This is a quick read chick lit style with some wonderful quirky language. The whole novel is written in the style of emails between a woman and her lover who of course has abandoned her. She wants to know why and begins by beating herself up over the breakup of the relationship. As the story progresses she becomes empowered enough to realize it isn't her fault.......and her lover has used her. Old story but new twists and turns. A small, short novel but a great little read.

One of these days I'll go to bed at night without thinking of you.
One of these days I'll wake up in the morning without thinking of you.
One of these days I'll go all day long without thinking of you, and I won't even notice that I haven't

I am thinking about how it proved to be a very short leap from thinking, I am crazy about you, to thinking, I am just plain crazy.
