A wonderful film based on the brave efforts of how one woman placed her own life last for the sake of standing up for what she really believed in, as told in the book of Esther in the Old Testament.

This was a really good movie. It's very accurate, unlike a lot of Bible story based movies. I totally recommend!

This was an awesome movie. It really brought the whole story of Ester to life.

A semi-disreputable Bible story gets the romance novel treatment. Minuses: a Disneyish heroine, with everything but the twittering bird friends circling around her head. A peculiar script that maintains, among other things, that ancient Greeks and Jews believed that all men were created equal. Pluses: authentic-looking locations and extras. A couple decent performances, including James Callis as Haman, who somehow can't forget his entire tribe was slaughtered. Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif, though, sadly, not in the same scenes.

No doubt a great cast, but they couldnt save this "made for tv Sunday afternoon movie". Not enough action, as I was bored a number of times throughout the show.

this movie is like an episode of xena warrior princess. it looks biblical at times but the costumes and sexual undertones are a little late night cheese fest. it was a nice break from the usual christmas fanfare.

Seemed like a low budget movie almost.

Interesting telling of the story of Hadassah (Esther). I am not that familiar with the Biblical version, however, I am sure that the movie is not true to it.

Currently, I am reading the "Hadassah" by Tommy Tenney the book that the movie is based. There are glaring differences between the book and the movie. I don't know if I was comfortable with how Esther was portrayed as some flighty, sexualized young woman in the movie. I saw the movie knowing that it would be the Hollywood version of the story of Esther, so I was prepared. However, I think I would recommend that people read the Bible version and use their own imaginations rather than seeing this movie.

Would recommend, with caution.

I love the story of Esther. This movie, as you might expect, doesn't follow the Bible exactly. There is a lot added in, and there is some left out. It does have the basic story, however, and it is enjoyable to watch.
