Not one of his best efforts. He's always been a poor-man's Dan Brown but he really went above and beyond the limit of credibility in this one, to the point that it affected the plot
Spanning the globe in setting, with a race to find a cure to a viral/bacterial threat, against an organization of evil baddies, there was some interesting historical connections in the story.
While the plot does strain credibility a bit at times, it was still interesting and engaging to the point where I am looking forward to reading more of the adventures of the Sigma Force once I have a chance to.
The Judas Strain --- by James Rollins. --- Rollins is the perennial purveyor that pits the good guys, the Guild, against the bag guys, Sigma. And once again, the good guys have to save the world. The story line is implausible, impossible, but gets its claws into you none the less. The suspense is riveting; the plot has more twists and turns than a worm on a fishing hook. No moral to the story but, like cotton candy, oh so entertaining especially for a beach summer.
This is a book with a lot of action and it's definitely a very interesting read. It is very unpredictable and in that sense alone is quite entertaining. If you like intense action, suspense, conspiracy, as well as some Indiana Jones like adventure, you will enjoy this book. Moreover, the blend of (possible/speculated) old history (Marco Polo's travels) with new history (modern day world) is an interesting weave. The characters have depth and one is pulled into trying to figure out who is honest and who is not. Rollin's style of writing is a bit denser than other writers I have read. Even so ...this is plus, if you want to be "fully immersed."
thank heavens for antibiotics! A deadly strain of bacteria from the 13th century is unleashed and the Sigma Force rushes to contain it.
I didnt' renew these books 3 times, I must have just hit the but 3 times, sorry.
