A different kind of story line with secret societies and an analysis of evil and demons on the earth. The Isles relationship with Father Brophy seems rather odd for her character while Rizzoli's family problems seem much more interesting. Gerristen allows the reader to decide about the existence of evil; is the killer simply deranged or are there mystical forces at play.
This was not my favorite Gerristen novel but it was fast paced and suspenseful and I will continue on with the author.

One of my favorites in the series!

The book series is addictive! Too bad the TV series didn't retain the original natures of the main characters.

Facinating twists + turns in all of her Rizzoli/Isles stories. Too bad the tv series is so predicable + lacking in depth found in the novels. MP

Rizzoli and Isles are investigating when Joyce O'Donnell gets killed. The older rizzolis get divorces.

I read it because it is a Rizzolli and Isles story, like the TV show. Here, however, the characters are more closely drawn and all is not the bubbly gal pals we see on the tube. Some issues remain, Jane's parents are divorcing, but Jane and Maura's basic relationship is arm's length.
the story is good, flashing povs and time, and it deals with a satanic serial killer. I will read more of these.
