As flood waters climb, a young girl named Wren and her grandparents have to find higher ground. Grandpa has been busy building a new house on the hill, so that is where they end up. Soon the neighbors come in search of shelter and the new house is full to the brim with friends but not water. Based on real events in 1927, this book shares the joy of sharing time together and making new friends in times of stress.
