This one was particularly difficult to get into. The first half of the book was very slow moving. If this was my first Binchy book I would have given up on it. I spent too much time waiting for the shoe to drop. Once it got going I enjoyed it, though. It was not my favourite by any means. I found the characters a bit over the top soapy and was annoyed with them as well.

I read this book back in 2004. When I watched The Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Jack Black, I couldn't help thinking that that movie was based on this book.

A very slow film. Unrealistic romance. Not recommended.

Maeve's books are hard to put down once you start reading them.
