This little known gem of a book from Ursula LeGuin covers a hundred year circle of time within the same imaginary curve of land along the Oregon coast. Beautiful and evocative writing, poignant characters; I was caught up in the power of place and nature -- and in the mystery of what changes and what stays the same. I felt like I knew this place. Searoad is an absolute treasure. I wrote a letter to Ms. LeGuin to tell her so (my first ever letter to an author) and she was gracious enough to respond!
