The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree is a beautiful, heartbreaking, uplifting story of Christmas traditions and hope in Appalachia during "the war".

This is a beautiful story of family love, courage and self-sacrifice. I dare you to read it aloud without getting chocked up! The illustrations are lovely. It would be particularly appealing for Christian families, or fans of history, as it is set in the past.
